SWAMPSCOTT – There was a rash of vandalism and a few car breaks over the weekend in town.According to Detective Ted Delano, there were seven reported incidents of graffiti being spray painted and some of the markings appear to be gang-related.Delano said the graffiti was found at Paradise Road and Burrill Street, a residence on Greenwood Avenue, the Swampscott Middle School and Swampscott Public Library.”It should be noted two of the three rear doors vandalized at the library had tags similar to those at a Burrill Street business and the baseball fields at the Middle School,” he said. “Those tags read Bloodz.”In additional to the vandalism, there were several cars broken into in the Burpee Road area.”The breaks occurred at night and the cars were unlocked,” he said. “Residents are reminded to lock their cars and remove all valuables.”Delano urged anyone who sees something suspicious to call the police immediately at 781-595-1111.
