SWAMPSCOTT – The Swampscott Police Association is holding its third annual semi-formal father and daughter dance June 26 in the high school atrium.Detective Rose Cheever, who helps coordinate the event, said it has been very successful in the past.”We had a great response last year,” she said. “We had people ask if we’d do it again this year. It’s on Father’s Day weekend and it’s a nice event for fathers and daughters to attend together. We’re really looking forward to it.”Cheever said the dance is another way for the SPA to reach out to the community.”We hope this dance will continue to prove to be a popular event and everyone has as much fun as they did last year. We had a lot of fun. There were a lot of giveaways for the kids. It was a really fun evening.”Cheever said the SPA does not make any money on the event and is therefore accepting financial contributions and baked goods donations from area businesses and individuals to help defray the cost. Anyone who would like to make a donation should contact the police department at 781-595-111 or email Cheever at [email protected] dance will be held on June 26 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Swampscott High School. Tickets are $55 per couple and $15 for each additional child and the event includes a deejay, a commemorative professional photograph, a silk corsage for the girls and light refreshments.Only 150 tickets will be sold so residents are encouraged to purchase their tickets now.”We sold out last year,” Cheever said. “We expect to sell out again this year so people should purchase tickets early.”Forms to order tickets will be sent home with elementary school students and tickets may also be ordered by emailing [email protected].
