SAUGUS — A 40-year-old Melrose man drove off a guard rail on Walnut Street Friday afternoon and went airborne before landing inside a home.
The driver, who police said may have suffered a medical episode, was removed from the vehicle by the Jaws of Life and rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
“He was conscious and alert,” said Police Lt. Ronald Giorgetti. “There were people in the home, but no one was injured.”
