SWAMPSCOTT — A van caught fire at Ingraham Terrace at around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. No injuries were sustained but there were damages to the property adjacent to where the van was parked, according to Swampscott Fire Department Capt. Steven Greenbaum.
The van belonged to Cardoso Electrical Services (CES). The driver of the van, a CES worker who declined to give his full name, said he was inside a house working when he noticed the smoke.
“By the time I came downstairs it was just engulfed,” he said. “Flames just shooting out, and then it started popping from whatever chemicals I had in there.”
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, Greenbaum said.
