ASTON, Pa. — Lynn’s Marcos Echevarria poured in 30 points, including six from beyond the arc, but it wasn’t enough as his Nichols College basketball team fell to Endicott, 111-75, in the second round of the NCAA Division III men’s basketball tournament.
For Endicott, which is coached by Peabody native Kevin Bettencourt, Stephen Basden, also from Lynn, scored seven points.
Endicott turned up the heat in the second half and dominated with perimeter shooting to capitalize on each possession to extend the lead to as much as 39 with 1:38 remaining in the game.
Endicott is now 3-2 in the NCAA Tournament under the Bettencourt’s direction.
Sophomore guard Vinny Clifford of Danvers hit four big three-pointers off the bench for 12 points.
