Lynn – Greater Lynn Senior Services (GLSS) will receive a significant financial boost as it renovates its downtown headquarters. The agency, which provides services to the elderly throughout Greater Lynn, is targeted for a $4 million tax-exempt bond issued by MassDevelopment. The bond was announced by the Lynn delegation this week, including Sen. Thomas McGee, representatives Mark Falzone, Steven Walsh and Robert Fennell and Rep. Douglas Petersen from Marblehead.GLSS has been providing services for more than 20 years.”GLSS is an extraordinarily worthwhile organization that provides senior citizens, both in our community of Lynn and surrounding communities, with invaluable programs and services,” said Falzone. “The senior community is a crucial contributing part of Lynn, and this bond allows us to give back to them by facilitating the vital services they need.”According to Fennell, the funding will help GLSS administrators and staff in continuing to offer seniors support, advocacy, and a comprehensive range of services and recreational programs.
