LYNN – The annual Easter Sunrise Service at High Rock Tower will be held April 8 at 6 a.m.Historically, the service draws people from all Christian backgrounds to an informal worship service on the holiest day in the Christian religion. Participants stand high above the city and their songs, prayers and even bubbles cascade throughout the city.”For me, Easter is more than Easter eggs and big family meals,” said United Methodist Pastor Doug Robinson-Johnson. “I feel like Easter is supposed to rekindle my hope and give me the power to do some good with God. When we gather above the city we remember all the places and people out there who need hope, who need something good to happen in their lives. On Easter morning I get to think about them and that is just perfect for me.”This year, according to organizers Lutheran Pastor Karen Safstrom, Sister Linda Bessom of the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless and the 45 minute service will feature bagpipes, bubbles and blessings. For information call Pastor Robinson-Johnson at 781-595-1504.
