BEVERLY – Police arrested a Lynn man and are looking for four or five more suspects after a brazen home invasion on Sunday afternoon.Jacinto D. Burgos, 23, of 12 Acorn St., Lynn, was arrested by Beverly police and charged with armed home invasion shortly after the crime occurred at 2:50 p.m. on 30 Ellsworth Ave.According to Beverly Police Chief John Cassola, four or five masked men stormed the home while its owner, a woman in her late 50s and her son, in his late 30s, were inside. Some of the men threw the woman to the ground on the first floor while the others ran upstairs. The son struggled with the intruders on the second floor and managed to knock a gun from one of the attacker’s hands, police said.During the invasion, the victims began screaming and may have scared the criminals away, Cassola said.Police reportedly found a handgun wrapped in cloth underneath a bush at the corner of Ellsworth Avenue and Scott Street on Sunday.Police arrested Burgos near the scene of the crime, at the intersection of Access Road and Dodge Street moments after the victims called police. He was being held on $100,000 bail as of press time.Police would not say if the victims were randomly targeted, as the investigation is still ongoing. The remaining suspects were last seen fleeing the area in a gray 2006 Toyota Camry with New York license plate number DUP4375, according to police.Lynn Police Detectives are assisting the Beverly Police Department with the investigation.- By Dan O’Brien
