Lacrosse: Baker leads Fenwick past Classical

John Baker scored three goals to lead the Bishop Fenwick boys lacrosse team to a 6-5 win over Lynn Classical, Friday, at Peabody.Brandon Ballard, Ben Terenzone and Jed Haddad added one goal apiece for the Crusaders, who evened their record at 3-3. Pat Doliber added two assists.The Rams (1-5) were led by Brendan Slepoy with two goals. Kris Murphy, Will Diamond and Matt McDonald added one goal each.The game went back-and-forth until Fenwick took a 3-goal lead. Classical dominated play at times, but was thwarted by some tough defense by the Crusaders.”They controlled the ball, but our defense played tight and kept them from getting off good shots,” Fenwick coach Jay Richards said.Craig Forrest played well in net for the Crusaders, while Greg Gaudet made 16 saves for the Rams.Beverly 11, Peabody 6At Endicott College, Bill Henry had three goals and an assist, Matt Savage had two goals and an assist and Eddie Leonard had a goal and two assists in a losing effort. Justin Famiglietti (22 saves) was in net for the Tanners (4-2).GIRLS LACROSSEPeabody 14, Danvers 7At Peabody High, Caroline Connors had five goals and an assist and Kayla McHugh continued her torrid scoring pace (17 points in two days) with three goals and four assists. The Tanners (3-3) also had good production from Leanne Broughton (3 goals, 2 assists), Deanna Manfra (2 goals, 2 assists) and Amanda Lowry (goal). Freshman Brittney Costa made 15 saves in her debut in net.Dracut 8, Fenwick 3At Dracut, the Crusaders (1-2) had goals from Michelle Alessi, Casey Otovic and Bridget Dullea.
