Jack Yanakakis of Lynn competed in the US Kids Golf Tour Championship with the 6-year-old and under boys held at Brookline Golf Club on Monday, Aug. 27. He shot a 44 for nine holes, ending birdie, par, par to take third place by one stroke.He competed in a minimum 4 of the 8 Boston Tour events yet accumulated enough points to take the third-place award for Golfer of the Year as well.Yanakakis has been a yearly participant in the summer clinics held at Gannon Municipal Golf Course since the age of 3, which has been his only formal instruction.
