CanAm League announces postseason all-star team

DURHAM, NC – The Can-Am League announced today the 2007 Postseason All-Star Team as voted upon by the ten league field managers and media representatives. The Atlantic City Surf and New Jersey Jackals had three players named to the 12-member team, while the Quebec Capitales and New Haven County Cutters had two selections. Spirit outfielder Mike Torres is the lone North Shore selection.The team roster is as follows (league-leading statistics in parentheses; statistics are through games of Aug. 29):CATCHERPatrick Perry, Worcester Tornadoes – Hit .313 with 7 HR, 49 RBI, 97 hits and 47 runs scored.FIRST BASEEddie Lantigua, Quebec Capitales – Hit .323 (8th) with 19 HR (1st), 78 RBI (1st), 107 hits (T-4th) and a .547 slugging percentage (3rd).SECOND BASEBoomer Berry, Quebec Capitales – Hit .322 (9th) with 104 hits, 70 runs scored (T-1st) and a .434 on-base percentage (2nd).THIRD BASEAnthony Granato, Atlantic City Surf – Hit .324 (T-6th) with 97 hits, 70 runs scored (T-1st), 25 stolen bases and a .450 on-base percentage (1st).SHORTSTOPOlmo Rosario, Nashua Pride – Hit .366 (1st) with 12 HR, 130 hits (1st), 25 stolen bases and 24 doubles (T-3rd).OUTFIELDErvin Alcantara, New Haven County Cutters – Hit .297 with 100 hits, 20 doubles and 31 stolen bases (T-3rd).OUTFIELDJeremy Pickrel, New Haven County Cutters & New Jersey Jackals – Hit .280 with 8 triples (1st), 37 extra-base hits (5th) and a .530 slugging percentage (4th).OUTFIELDTorres, North Shore Spirit – Hit .324 (T-6th) with 108 hits (3rd), 18 doubles and 58 RBI (5th).DESIGNATED HITTERSandy Madera, New Jersey Jackals – Hit .360 (2nd) with 19 HR (T-1st), 69 RBI (2nd), 120 hits (2nd), and a .595 slugging percentage (1st).LEFT-HANDED PITCHERBrian Rodaway, Atlantic City Surf – 14-3 (1st in wins) record with a 3.36 ERA, 86 strikeouts in 131 1/3 innings pitched (3rd) and one complete game.RIGHT-HANDED PITCHERJohn Kelly, Brockton Rox & New Jersey Jackals – 7-3 record with a 2.36 ERA (1st in ERA), 126 strikeouts (1st) in 141 innings pitched (1st) and two complete games (T-5th).RELIEF PITCHERMatt Pike, Atlantic City Surf – 2-1 record with a 2.98 ERA in 44 games (T-1st in games), 24 saves (1st) and 40 strikeouts in 45 1/3 innings pitched.
