The Peabody High field hockey team tied Danvers, 1-1, Thursday with Tawny Palmieri supplying the offense for the Tanners.Palmieri put Peabody on top 1-0 at the half, but Danvers came back to tie it on a goal by Steph Costa. Rebecca Mullen (10 saves) did a nice job in net for Peabody. The Tanners are 6-2-3 and need three more points to qualify for the state tournament.Gloucester 1, Saugus 0At Stackpole Field, Gloucester’s Brianna Aloisio scored off a corner 25 minutes into the first half. Saugus goalie Sophia DiPesa (6 saves) played well despite the loss, as did halfback Sarah Dean and forward Haley Erickson. The Sachems are 6-4-2.Marblehead 2, Salem 1At Marblehead, Taylor Callahan put the Magicians on top 1-0 in the first half (Kari Osborne assist), but Salem came back to tie the game up. Maggie McMullen delivered the morale crusher when she scored the game-winner with four minutes remaining. Libby Levine was in net for Marblehead (7-2-1).VOLLEYBALLSt. Mary’s 3, St. Clement’s 0At St. Clement’s, the Spartans (9-0, 6-0 Catholic Central League) took 25-13, 25-18 and 25-17 wins over the Anchormen. Angela Masucci and Anna Jackson served well in the win.
