LYNN – A Lynn man was arrested in Michigan Tuesday for his suspected involvement in an Internet sex sting.Norman Leon Reed, 40, of Lynn was arraigned Thursday and is being held on $100,000 bond and faces an Oct. 10 preliminary hearing on charges he came to that state planning to have sex with a Michigan woman’s children.Reed was charged with one count of sexually abusive activity on a child, a felony which carries a possible 20-year sentence; communicating with another to commit a crime, a felony which carries a possible 15 year sentence; and using a computer to commit a crime, a felony which carries a possible 20-year sentence.According to police, Reed thought he was meeting a woman to have sexual intercourse with her 12-year-old daughter, and also, at some point, to have sexual intercourse with her 3-year-old daughter, as well.While Reed thought he was communicating with the woman in Michigan, he was actually arranging plans with an Oakland County Sheriff’s deputy. Reed was arrested at the Capital City Airport in Lansing, Michigan when he arrived for his trip.Massachusetts State Police searched Reed’s home where he lives with a friend and his friend’s mother, and seized three computers.Reed must post bail to be released from the Oakland County Jail in Michigan, not have contact with minors, possess a verified Michigan address and wear a GPS-tracking ankle bracelet.
