Peabody woman escapes abduction

PEABODY – Peabody police were searching for a man who allegedly tried to abduct a woman walking home from work on Joy Road around 11 p.m. Sunday.According to preliminary reports, a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt approached the victim and grabbed her from behind. He then reportedly punched her in the face. The victim got away and called police.On Wednesday night, a 17-year-old woman was stabbed on Troy Street, just down the street from Joy Road, by an unknown male attacker.Police made no arrests in that case. Anyone with information is urged to call Peabody police.? Dan O’Brien
