PEABODY-Police said Monday they’re still looking for the person who tried to abduct a female on Joy Road late Sunday night and the suspect who stabbed a woman on Troy Street during an attempted kidnapping this past Wednesday. At 11:10 p.m. Sunday, police were called to the victim’s home after she reported a man tried to abduct her on Joy Road about 20 minutes earlier. She reported a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt grabbed her from behind and punched her in the face during a scuffle. The victim managed to flee and called police from her nearby home.On Wednesday, just before 7:30 p.m., police were called to the corner of Fairview Avenue and Troy Street after a 17-year-old woman, who also lived nearby, was stabbed in a similar attack. The victim was walking in the area when she was grabbed from behind by the suspect and stabbed once in the back, police said. She managed to break free and get away.Police used a K-9 to search the area immediately after the stabbing. The dog picked up a scent in the woods near the crime scene, but then lost it, police said. The suspect in Wednesday’s attack was described as a white male, approximately six feet tall, between 18 and 22 years old, wearing a white t-shirt and dark colored pants, possibly sweatpants. No arrests have been made in either case.So far, police have not officially said the cases are connected.A police spokesperson was not available for comment on Monday.
