Melikke Van Alstyne might have had a pair of rushing touchdowns for Salem against Revere on Friday at Bertram Field, but it was a defensive play he made that saved the day. With the Patriots knocking on the door following a 40-yard pass from Steve Ennamorati in the final minute, Van Alstyne intercepted another Ennamorati pass inside the five to help preserve a 14-12 win for the Witches.Salem quarterback Colby Boulay was outstanding, throwing for 126 yards and rushing for another 50.Revere running back Anthony DeFeo had a great performance, rushing for 140 yards and a touchdown from 35 yards out while Ennamorati had a 25-yard touchdown pass to Mike Imbrascia that made it 14-12. Revere went for the conversion, but was stopped.”We’ve lost our last two games by three points,” Revere coach Lou Cicatelli said. “We’re a little snake-bitten right now.”Cicatelli said turnovers (2 fumbles, 2 interceptions) really hurt his team. Revere is 3-3.In other Northeastern Conference action, Beverly defeated Danvers, 34-6.
