Add two more local teams to the mix of those heading to the state tournament.The St. Mary’s High girls soccer team reached the post-season for the fourth year in a row despite having to settle for a 0-0 tied against Archbishop Williams Friday in Braintree.The Lynnfield High boys soccer team qualified for the fifth year in a row with a 3-1 win over Ipswich at Ipswich. The Pioneers (8-5-2) are coming off a very successful year that saw them reach the Division 3 state final before losing.Mike Kennedy supplied the bulk of the offense for the Pioneers once again, scoring two goals to bring his season total to 23 with nine assists (A J. Johnson had the other goal.) Kennedy will be playing soccer at Northeastern next year.St. Mary’s 3, Williams 0At Manning Field, the Spartans (8-3-5) played what coach Al Jackson called their best first half of the season. Alex Glover scored the first goal on a pass from David Calef and later had a direct kick from 35 yards out that Anthony Payne redirected into the net for his first varsity goal. Mike Louvaris wrapped up the scoring for St. Mary’s two minutes later with his first varsity goal.. Payne had the assist. Andrew LaMacchia had four or five saves in the second half that kept Archbishop Williams at bay.Peabody 4, Winthrop 0At Peabody, Mike Pennachio and Matt Rodgers score din the first half to put this one out of reach early. Chris Neves accounted for the final score.”We kind of controlled the game. The Winthrop program is kind of coming along. The Pioneers either need four more points to qualify for the state tournament or they’ll have to finished first or second in the Cape Ann League Small.
