MARBLEHEAD-Marblehead High School Principal John Ziergiebel and his wife, Ann, are grieving this week after the couple’s 23-year-old daughter was killed in a single-car crash on the Massachusetts Turnpike early Saturday morning.Police say Jane Ziergiebel, a former field hockey player at Gloucester High School, lost control of the Mazda Miata she was driving just before 1 a.m. Saturday, slamming the car into a guardrail and then spinning into the center median near exit 8 in Palmer. She was pronounced dead at the scene.State police are investigating the accident, but indicated that wet, rainy conditions throughout New England that night could have contributed to the crash. Ziergiebel, who was the only occupant of the car, was not wearing a seat belt.Along with her parents, Jane Ziergiebel leaves three siblings, Molly, 27, Andrew, 25, and Samuel 20.
