LYNN-Breed Middle School students took part in the school’s first annual Fitness Walk fundraiser Friday, trekking two and a half miles to raise money for school necessities.Principal James Ridley said about one third of the students participated in the walk, which required a donation of at least $15 to be put toward scholarship funds, field trips and new curtains in a lecture hall. The students collected money from friends and family in past weeks, and ended the effort with a fitness walk Friday, which took them from the school on O’Callaghan Way to Holyoke, Myrtle and Walnut streets and back to the school for a reception with pizza and slush.”I was very happy with all of the participation that we had,” said Ridley. “It was good to see all of these students step up and help out their school.”
