November 16, 2007 by itemlive_news

LYNN-An alleged prostitute holding crack cocaine was arrested early Thursday on Howard Street after she flagged down two undercover officers asking if they wanted to party, police said.Laura Lemieux, 28, of 40 Jones Ave. #1, Chelsea, was arrested and charged with prostitution and possession of a class B drug shortly after 4 a.m.Two undercover officers were patrolling Howard Street near downtown n an area police say is a common working area for prostitutes n when they noticed Lemieux leaving an apartment building and walk into the street. After the officers circled around, they noticed Lemieux attempted to flag down a car, but it kept going. Lemieux then flagged down the officers’ unmarked vehicle before walking over and asking, “Do you guys party?”Lemieux then allegedly told the officers she had a “rock” that she wanted to share with them.Lemieux got into the officers’ car and they took her for a short ride. They allegedly discussed smoking the crack when Lemieux said she would “take care of [them]” and would charge money for sexual acts: $40 for oral sex or $60 for intercourse.Moments later, the officers pulled the vehicle over at the corner of Union and Silsbee streets, identified themselves as police officers and placed Lemieux under arrest.During a search of Lemieux, police allegedly found a hypodermic needle in her pocket and a small plastic bag containing a substance believed to be crack cocaine.During her arraignment in Lynn District Court, Lemieux was held on $500 cash bail and ordered back in court Dec. 11 for a pre-trial hearing.
