Swampscott sophomore Lindsay Walsh finished sixth in the MIAA Division 2 Girls State Cross Country meet held Saturday at Gardner.Walsh finished with a time of 17:23. The winner, Bromfield’s Emily Jones, ran a 16:06. Walsh’s teammate, Kelly Walton, finished 41st (18:39); Erica Mazman, 119th (20:16); and Julia Mazman, 140th (21:57). The Big Blue came in 11th as a team, with Bromfield capturing the title. In the Division 1 girls race, Beverly took fifth as a team with Kelly O’Connor taking 18th for the Panthers.In the Division 2 boys race, Swampscott’s Chris Heller was the top finisher for the Big Blue, taking 17th (15:36). Teammate Sam Rakoc, a junior, also checked in with a 15:36 for 18th place and James Keeter took 45th (16:03). The Big Blue took seventh place (out of 16) as a team with Hopedale finishing first.In Division 1 boys, Austin Sousa of Gloucester finished 22nd and Alex Gomes of Peabody took 32nd (15:19). Robert Gibson of Brookline was the winner (14:25).
