SALEM – A Lynn man arrested on aggravated rape charges who is also facing charges with another man for their involvement in an underage prostitution ring on the North Shore has been indicted by an Essex County grand jury.Damon L. Hendricks, 33, of 31 Dearborn Ave., #3, Lynn, and Trevor E. Jones, 30, of 59 Merrill Ave., face charges of procuring a person to practice prostitution, deriving support from prostitution and soliciting from prostitution.The allegations concern incidents from July 1 through Oct. 1 when the men were sending girls to meet men in motels or in cars for sex.Hendricks also is charged with inducing minors to prostitution and living off earnings from a minor prostitute in connection with the case.Hendricks was also indicted on charges of aggravated rape, attempted murder and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in connection with an incident in Salem on Sept. 28 when he allegedly punched and held a knife to the mother of his 6-year-old child as he raped her at an apartment at 35 Salem St.Police quickly arrested him after he was found hiding near the scene.The indictments handed up this week now move the case from Salem District Court, where the men pleaded not guilty, to Salem Superior Court where they will be re-arraigned within a few weeks.In the meantime, Hendricks remains held at the Middleton Jail on $75,000 cash and Jones on $25,000 cash bail.Assistant District Attorney Melissa A. Woodard is prosecuting the case for the commonwealth.
