MARBLEHEAD-Those following the Board of Appeals progress on KSS Realty, the firm that wants to build a major condominium project on the Salem-Marblehead line, will have to wait another three weeks.Monday evening?s appeals board meeting was canceled at the last moment and the next meeting of the board is now set for Tuesday, Dec. 18, at 7:30 p.m. at the Marblehead Community Center.Meanwhile a draft decision, setting limits on the KSS proposal to build 44 condominium units on the former Chadwick Lead Mills seaside property on Lafayette Street, is making its way through town departments.Town Planner Rebecca Curran said it is possible that the board could vote on the draft decision Dec. 18, but not certain.?We?re waiting for the department heads? review,” she said. “If they don?t approve it they could approve it in January.”The leaders in the decision-making process include Board of Appeals Chairman William Moriarty, town zoning lawyer Lisa Mead, KSS architect Gary Kane and KSS lawyer Carl King.The project includes 11 affordable condominiums and 33 market value condominium units. It will also include the environmental clean-up of the lead mills property, which is contaminated with lead and other chemicals from its former industrial use.
