LYNN-A city furniture store manager was busted Wednesday for selling cocaine to a man on Eastern Avenue, police said.William J. Hultgren, 34, of 69 Cliff St., Lynn was arrested for distribution of a class B drug.Richard Macorquodale, 27, of 15 Hanover St., Lynn, the man who allegedly bought the narcotics, was arrested and charged with possession of a class B drug.When Hultgren, a manager of Zimmans furniture store on Market Street, was placed under arrest, officers found a total $691 in cash and a cell phone.Macorquodale allegedly had two twist bags of cocaine in his pocket.Plain-clothes officers of the Lynn Police Department’s Special Investigation Unit were monitoring the area of Eastern Avenue near Waitt Avenue around 7 p.m. in light of recent drug activity in that area, police said.While on patrol, officers noticed a white Oldsmobile Alero pull to the curb across from 615 Eastern Ave. when a man, later identified as Macorquodale, allegedly walked across the street and got into the passenger’s side front door.The vehicle then backed up and drove down Waitt Avenue. The vehicle then drove a few blocks up Western Avenue before turning onto Stanwood Road and coming to a stop, police said.Macorquodale then got out of the vehicle and began to walk up the street when he was approached by a police officer.Hultgren allegedly drove away a short distance before being stopped.The suspects are due back in Lynn District Court Jan. 8.
