LYNNFIELD – A Lynnfield man was arrested Friday afternoon after he struck a Lynnfield police officer with his vehicle and pinned him against a tree.According to Sgt. Sean Donovan of the Lynnfield Police, David Angelini, 38, of 14 Orchard Lane, Lynnfield, was taken into custody Friday after he used his vehicle as a dangerous weapon against Officer Stephen Conley.Angelini was charged with assault and battery on a police officer, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest.Donovan said Conley responded to an incident around 2:30 p.m. at Angelini’s residence and allegedly got into an altercation with him.Angelini, who police said has a history of mental illness, then got into his vehicle and refused to get out of it as officers tried to restore calm. Unable to lure Angelini out of the vehicle, he then drove toward Donovan, pinning him against a tree.After he was extricated from the situation, Donovan was transported to Burlington Lahey for treatment and evaluation.Donovan said Conley suffered massive bruising during the incident and is battered. The extent of Conley’s injuries were not yet known as of Friday night.
