SALEM – A Lynn man already under indictment on drug trafficking charges has been indicted again on a related drug offense by an Essex County grand jury.Francklin Coplin, 30, of 20 Neptune Blvd., #513, now faces an additional drug trafficking charge in connection with his arrest on Sept. 25 when police raided his apartment and recovered another kilo of cocaine along with $2,000 in cash and personal papers linking him to the apartment.This newest charge of trafficking over 200 grams of cocaine carries a minimum mandatory punishment of 15 years in state prison, with no chance of early release.Last week, Coplin pleaded not guilty to another charge for trafficking over 200 grams of cocaine in connection with his arrest when he was stopped in a white Jeep Cherokee and police found five kilos of cocaine.He remains held on $150,000 cash bail at the Middleton Jail after being arraigned on that charge.He is due back in court on Jan. 9 for a pretrial conference on that case at which time he is expected to be arraigned on this newest charge.Assistant District Attorney Kim M. Faitella is prosecuting both cases against Coplin for the commonwealth.
