Revere cops make big bust

December 14, 2007 by itemlive_news

REVERE-By the time it was over, police confiscated over 150 grams of crack cocaine, a fully-loaded .38 caliber revolver, a high-capacity assault rifle, various ammunition, a bullet-proof vest, drug paraphernalia and thousands of dollars in cash ? most of it from the second floor of a house at 690 Broadway, police said.It was a large drug bust that police say couldn’t have happened without the help of several undercover officers from the State Police’s Suffolk County Drug Task Force.Six arrests were made in the operation Wednesday night that spawned a search of three homes in Revere and one house in Malden. After an investigation into the alleged drug operation that went on for “the past several months,” Revere and State Police decided to take down the suspects at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday when an undercover officer arranged to purchase crack cocaine from some of them, according to Revere Police Capt. Michael Murphy.”The undercover State Police officer gained access to one of the defendants by making repeated undercover buys of marijuana and cocaine,” Murphy said. The suspects who were arrested are identified as Salvatore J. Diprizio, 18, of 566 Park Ave., Revere, Robert J. French, 18, of 102 Cecilian Ave., Revere, Arnolina Jeudy, 17, of 27 Linwood St., Malden, Abdul J. Lopez, 26, of 690 Broadway, Revere, Victor Marjoun, 18, of 21 Green St., Revere and David P. Minasian, 19, of 56 Essex St., Malden.Lopez, who resides in the Broadway home where most of the items were seized, faces the most charges, including two counts of trafficking cocaine, two counts of a narcotics violation in a school zone and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. When police carried out the search warrant at Lopez’s home, his wife and children were present and allowed to leave by police.Police also carried out search warrants at Diprizio’s home at 566 Park Ave. and another Revere home, at 52 Allston St. on Wednesday. Minasian’s home on Essex Street in Malden was also searched. On Wednesday, a Chelsea District Court judge granted authorities an arrest warrant for French after he allegedly sold marijuana and cocaine to an undercover officer on previous occasions, police said.Search warrants for the three Revere residences were granted on Wednesday from a Suffolk Superior Court judge in Boston, police added. The line of events that led to the arrests began Wednesday evening when an undercover officer arranged to meet with Diprizio to purchase an ounce of cocaine and a firearm from him, according to police.Diprizio allegedly instructed the officer to meet him at an undisclosed residence. In the meantime, other police officers set up an undercover surveillance as the officer met with Diprizio, police said. Then, the officer was allegedly instructed to drive to a convenience store parking lot on Broadway in Revere to meet with other suspects, including Minasian who was identified as the “supplier,” to complete the purchase. As the officer and several of the suspects waited in the parking lot, Minasian allegedly walked to Lopez’s house, which was located nearby, to obtain the items.Minasian then came back from Lopez’s home and completed the transaction with the officer in the store parking lot, police said.Police said Diprizio, French and Marjoun were arrested outside of the store. Minasian and Jeudy were arrested after their car was pulled over on Park Avenue, police said. Lopez was arrested at his home.Murphy credits Revere and State Police with helping to tackle a huge problem that seems to affect all walks of life.”They’re really working diligently to identify and arrest these people,” Murphy said. “We have limited resources to attack a huge problem.”
