REVERE – Police said several more people will be indicted in connection with the Sept. 29 murder of Officer Daniel Talbot in addition to the 17-year-old charged with helping accused killer Robert Iacoviello get rid of the murder weapon.Gia Nagy, 98 Eastern Ave., Revere, pleaded not guilty Monday to being an accessory to murder after the fact. Judge Robert Cornetta set bail at $10,000. She faces up to seven years in prison if convicted.Alison Nagy said her daughter “had nothing to do with” Talbot’s death. But police said witnesses called before a grand jury investigating Talbot’s murder testified Nagy helped dismantle and dispose of the 9 mm handgun used to kill Talbot.”Witnesses also testified under oath that Gia Nagy knew that the weapon was the same weapon that was used to kill Daniel Talbot,” State Police Det. Steven McDonald stated in a report filed in court.Prosecutor John Lacey said Nagy “comforted” Iacoviello, who he identified as Nagy’s boyfriend, in the early morning hours after Talbot’s shooting and helped him prepare an alibi.Iacoviello, 20, of Revere was charged Nov. 13 with Talbot’s murder. Prosecutors said he fired the single shot that killed the officer after he was called to the Revere High School parking lot by Derek Lodie shortly after Lodie got into a verbal confrontation with Talbot and others socializing on the high school bleachers.Iacoviello pleaded not guilty to the charge and Lodie, 17, entered the same plea to being an accessory before the fact to murder in the days after the shooting.Police investigating Talbot’s death recovered pieces of a handgun from storm drains on Cushman Avenue. Prosecutors claim Nagy dumped the pieces down the drains. But Nagy’s attorney said she has assisted efforts to investigate Talbot’s death, including answering questions from police and being called twice before the grand jury without being asked to testify.”She thought she was being helpful,” Craig Mulcahy said. The grand jury has heard testimony from over 25 witnesses and will reportedly finish hearing testimony by the end of the year. Court documents indicate Lodie will be indicted on the accessory charge along with at least one other person.Nagy is scheduled to return to Chelsea District Court on Jan. 3 for a probable cause hearing.
