REVERE-A 33-year-old Revere man was allegedly robbed at knifepoint Wednesday night as he walked to his car in the Northgate Shopping Center parking lot on Squire Road, police said. The victim said he was walking out of Burlington Coat Factory at about 8:45 p.m. when an unknown man ran up beside him and held a knife to the victim’s body. The suspect then forced the victim to walk slowly to his car, police said. When the two got to the car, the suspect raised the knife to the victim’s neck, according to police. The victim was then allegedly ordered to drop his shopping bags and was patted down by the suspect. As this was going on, the victim noticed the suspect had a tattoo of a cross between his thumb and index finger on his left hand, police said. The suspect then reached into the victim’s pocket and found his wallet, containing $500 cash, travelers and bank checks and a driver’s license. The suspect forced the victim to shake his hand in an attempt to make the robbery look like a friendly exchange, police said. The suspect then ran away through the parking lot toward Taco Bell and fled in a dark colored Toyota sedan with a loud muffler in an unknown direction, police said. The victim said he didn’t get a good look at the suspect, but described him as a white male, six feet tall, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark colored sneakers and blue jeans.Police reviewed a store security video from Burlington Coat Factory and noticed the suspect approached the man as he walked away from the store. However, the incident occurred just out of range of the video camera and police could not get a good look at the suspect. No arrests have been made.
