LYNN-A Summer Street man who was arrested kicking and screaming Saturday for his fourth drunk driving offense was ordered held without bail for being a danger to the public.Ismael Diaz, 58, of 275 Summer St. was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol (fourth offense), marked lanes violations and resisting arrest shortly before 10:30 p.m.A man driving behind Diaz on Lynn Street in Peabody got fed up with his alleged erratic operation and called police on his cell phone when they reached Wyoma Square in Lynn, police said.Later, police observed Diaz driving south on Boston Street, crossing over the center line several times and driving on the wrong side of the road near the intersection of Franklin Street, according to police.Police said three officers had to forcibly remove Diaz from his Ford Ranger after he refused to step out of the vehicle.When police tried to get Diaz to exit the truck, he began yelling, “What did I do wrong!?” and gripped the steering wheel tightly, police said.Diaz needed assistance to stand up and officers leaned him up against his vehicle to keep from falling over, according to police.Diaz passed out in the police car before arriving at the Lynn police station about two minutes away, police added.Diaz also told officers he has lived in the United States for 40 years and spoke good English. Officers wrote in a police report that Diaz indeed spoke English well.Despite that, Diaz requested a Spanish-speaking interpreter for his arraignment in Lynn District Court on Monday.Judge Michael Lauranzano ordered Diaz held without bail until a motion hearing, which is scheduled for today.
