REVERE-A Charlestown woman was arrested Wednesday after she allegedly stole a taxi, drove up to a Revere police officer asking for directions, then led him and other officers on a dangerous car chase through Revere and Chelsea where it came to a crashing end, police said.After Rhoda D. Ngarambe, 23, of 585 West Lane Road, Charlestown, was arrested, she told police, “I’ve done two lines of cocaine and drank a (expletive) of Hennesy,” according to Revere Police Chief Terence Reardon.Police said the ordeal began shortly before 10 p.m. at the corner of Beach Street and North Shore Road where Ngarambe allegedly stole the Tunnel Taxi cab from the East Boston driver who went inside a Pete’s Super Beef to make a quick purchase. Ngarambe was the cabbie’s fare at the time.Moments after the taxi driver reported his white Ford Crown Victoria stolen, Ngarambe allegedly drove up to a Revere police officer in the stolen car and asked him for directions. Within a few seconds, the officer tried to pull the vehicle over when he realized it was recently reported stolen.That’s when the chase began down Revere Beach Parkway.During the chase, Ngarambe repeatedly flailed her arms out of the window and stuck her middle finger at the officer, police said.Failing to stop for red lights and stop signs, Ngarambe allegedly extended the chase to Broadway in Chelsea.Officers also spotted Ngarambe drinking from a half-pint bottle of alcohol during the chase, police said.The chase ended at Congress Avenue in Chelsea after Ngarambe crashed into a parked SUV, causing significant damage to the front end, police said.Ngarambe was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, reckless operation, driving without a license, failing to stop for police, receiving a stolen car, assault with a dangerous weapon (the taxi), driving with an open container of alcohol and resisting arrest.Police said she had to be pulled from the car kicking and screaming.
