SALEM – Two Lynn men accused of shooting an 18 year old outside a Bennett Street restaurant last month in what police describe as a gang-related murder have been indicted by an Essex County grand jury.Bonrad Sok, 17, of 103 Warren St., and Kevin Keo, 17, of 21 Morris St., stand charged with first-degree murder in connection with the Nov. 1 fatal shooting of Cristian Vargas-Martinez.Vargas-Martinez, 18, of 153 Chatham St., Lynn, was gunned down outside the Golden Lakes Restaurant. He was shot at least once in an ambush that occurred around 5 p.m., outside the restaurant.According to reports, Sok and a group confronted Vargas-Martinez and his girlfriend in the parking lot where a fight ensued. When Vargas-Martinez ran back into the restaurant, the fight continued but was stopped. They then went outside and a single gunshot was fired, striking Vargas-Martinez in the chest.Sok then surrendered himself to police, who identified him as an “admitted member of the insane gangster bloods.”Following an investigation, Keo was also charged in connection with the death of Vargas-Martinez.Vargas-Martinez apparently was a member of the Asian Street Walkers, a gang affiliated with the Crips, a major gang rival of the bloods.Moses Penn, 19, of 21 Norton St., Lynn, has been also indicted on a charge of being an accessory after the fact, and a juvenile have been charged as an accessory before the fact in connection with the incident.Assistant District Attorney James P. Gubitose is prosecuting the case for the commonwealth.
