Roundup: Classical’s Kidney breaks school mar

Katelyn Kidney set a Classical High girls swimming record in the 100 butterfly Thursday, but the Rams still came up short against Beverly, 97-86. The meet was at Lynn Tech.Kidney, whose 1:06.13 in the fly was good enough for first place, also anchored the winning 200 free relay (2:07.80) with Peter Rondeau, Eric Silva and Tom Schumann rounding out the team.The Rams swept diving, led by Tia Murkison (198.90). Chris Voyagis finished second (156.80) and Catie Chipman (136.65) took third. Gabby Bono (1:13.83) and Eliana Field (1:24.62) went 1-2 in the backstroke and Rondeau (1:28.33) led a sweep of the breaststroke. Erin Mushette took second (1:33.12) and Jetta Garrity, third (1:33.41).Swampscott 101English 61At Lynn Tech, English’s Cody Farris won the 200 individual medley (2:35.48) and Will Segal topped the field in diving with 144.05 points, but it was all Big Blue (2-0) the rest of the way.Swampscott’s Omri Bernstein, P.J. Nestor, Sam Andler and Stepan Gevorgyan won the 200-medley relay (2:01.14) and Jacob Waxman, Adam Waxman, Elizabeth Drummond and Nikita Klimashov combined to win the 400 free relay (4:30.35).The Big Blue also had individual wins from Sam Andler in the 200 free (2:10.97) and the 100 fly (1:03.59); Drummond, 100 free (1:09.06); Breegan Houlihan, 500 free (6:24.66); Bernstein, 100 backstroke (1:15.43); and Melissa Brodie, 100 breaststroke (1:26.09).Marblehead 90, Revere 63At the Garfield School, the Magicians (2-0) won every event and took the top three spots in most. Emily Rookwood, Katherine Kelloway, Trevor Burd and David Traynor combined to win the 200-medley relay (2:06.19).The Magicians also picked up individual wins from Katherine Fallon, 200 free (2:17.41); Kelloway, 200 individual medley (2:27.47); Chris Agiros, 50 free (23:45); Hayley Robb, diving (179 points); Caroline Humphrey, 100 fly (1:08.25); Traynor, 100 free (1:00.07); Caroline Caliri, 500 free (5:45.72); Rookwood, 100 back (1:09.30); Andrea Moore, 100 breaststroke (1:24.79).The other winning relays were the 200 free, with Cal Gridley, Agiros, Burd and Traynor (1:47.69) and the 400 free, with Kelloway, Rookwood, Fallon and Caliri (4:16.09).BOYS HOCKEYLynnfield 8, Pentucket 0At Haverhill, the Pioneers (4-2-2, 3-2-1 Cape Ann League) didn’t have any trouble finding the net in this one.
