Peabody inauguration ceremony tonight

PEABODY-Peabody?s inauguration ceremony will take place tonight at 7 p.m. in City Hall?s Wiggin Auditorium. The community is welcome to attend and support this term?s group of new and returning members.City Council rookies Anne M. Manning and Dave C. Gravel will join veterans James Liacos, Ted Bettencourt Jr., and Michael Garabedian as councilors-at-large. Barry Osborne will be re-sworn in as Ward 1 Councilor, Arthur Athas will continue his role in Ward 2, Ward 3 will welcome back Rico Mello, and David Gamache will carry on his stint as Ward 5 Councilor. Barry Sinewitz, however, will be sworn in for his first time as the Councilor for Ward 6. Members of the Council will also elect their president.Brandi Carpenter and Edward Charest will be sworn in as the newcomers to the School Committee. They will join longtime members Beverly Ann Griffin Dunne, David McGeney, Ed Nizwantowski, and Michael Moutsoulas. Members will also elect a vice-chairman and secretary, as Mayor Michael Bonfanti will resume his role as School Committee Chairman.Thomas Zellen will return to the Municipal Light Commission.The Peabody Institute Library will receive one new trustee, Gerald Bellew, and three familiar faces, Robert Walsh, Nancy Sue Keller and David McAllister.Last but not least, Mayor Michael Bonfanti will be sworn in for his fourth consecutive term in the city?s highest office.
