Lynn English teacher breaks a sweat in New Hampshire

LYNN-If presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton finds herself occupying the oval office for the next four years she will most likely look back at her win in Tuesday’s New Hampshire Primary as a turning point in her campaign. But it was the manual labor of one Lynn English High history teacher that helped keep a Sunday campaign rally from turning sour for the New York Senator, and eventually resulted in a rare photo opportunity for the man and his young son.Brian LaPierre considers himself a fairly political individual; he is active in the Lynn Teachers Union along with the Association of Fundraising Professionals and has supported several local campaigns including that of Deval Patrick in 2006.With the former first lady campaigning just hours to the north last weekend, LaPierre decided to drive his wife, Kelly, and 9-month-old son Owen to Nashua North High School to attend an event and learn more about Clinton’s ideas for America. As nearly 3,000 people jammed into the school’s auditorium, the city’s Fire Marshal was preparing to thin out the crowd if a large generator was not moved from the back of the building to create an extra exit.Because of his large stature, Clinton’s campaign staff fingered LaPierre out of the crowd and asked his help in moving the hefty machine. He completed the task, and before the night was over LaPierre found himself standing on the risers in front of the stage, leading the cheers for the woman who won him over during her talk with the audience.”The place was jam-packed with supporters, we were standing on the risers to cheer her on,’ he said. “I was surprised, I figured that spot was reserved for big donors, but they told us ?as long as you can be loud and energetic we want you up there.'”Clinton spoke for quite some time and was snapping photos with donors and supporters behind a large American flag when LaPierre decided he would try to earn a little payment for his earlier work. After trying to coerce a picture through Clinton’s campaign staff, which told LaPierre that only a few of the folks in the audience could take a photo with the candidate, he took matters into his own hands and yelled out to Clinton as she passed by.”I shouted to her when she walked by ? How about a picture with my son,'” he said. “I am not sure if she didn’t hear me or didn’t acknowledge me but when she came around again I kind of threw my baby at her, she did pose quickly with us.”LaPierre said he did not talk to Clinton, but just being up in New Hampshire during such a hectic and important time made the trip worthwhile.”It was a fun little day, the support for her was unwavering,” he said. “I have been involved with campaigns of smaller stature, and they are energetic at the state level too, but this was a national event and it was bigger than anything I have ever been a part of.”
