Lynn Democratic Caucus set for Feb. 2

LYNN-The Lynn Democratic Caucus to elect delegates to the 2008 Massachusetts Democratic Party Convention will be held Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Lynn Housing Authority Community Room, 10 Church St., Lynn. Doors for the caucus open at 9:30 a.m. and registration will close at 10 a.m.The convention will take place Saturday, June 7 at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell.At that time, Democrats will gather to endorse candidates for the office of U.S. Senator. Candidates for delegate and alternate must be present at the caucus and consent to nomination in writing.Delegates will be equally divided between men and women. Anyone, at least 18 and registered as a Lynn Democrat as of Dec. 31, 2007, is welcome to attend the caucus and run for a delegate position. The number of delegates eligible for election are as follows: Ward 1: (10); Ward 2: (7); Ward 3: (7); Ward 4: (6); Ward 5: (7); Ward 6: (6); Ward 7: (8).
