SALEM – Three men have been indicted on separate cases involving a bank robbery, narcotics and firearm crimes by an Essex County grand jury.Ian Dooley, 30, of 25 Pine Grove Ave., Lynn, stands charged with stealing by confining or putting in fear in connection with the Dec. 21 holdup of the East Boston Savings Bank in Wyoma Square.According to reports, the robber entered the bank located at 335 Broadway shortly before 1 p.m., and passed a note to the teller suggesting he had a weapon, while demanding money. However, no weapon was actually shown. The robber fled the bank with over $3,000 in cash, filled with dye packs.Police quickly responding to the scene found Dooley covered in red dye while on Broadway.A conviction on the crime carries up to life in state prison.Assistant District Attorney Marcia H. Slingerland is assigned to prosecute the case for the commonwealth. Also indicted:Michael Johnson, 40, of 422 Bowdoin St., Dorchester, charged with two counts of distribution of heroin, subsequent offenses, involves two incidents in Lynn when he allegedly sold heroin to an undercover officer on Dec. 11 and Dec. 12.Ronald Burnett, 42, of 13 Monmouth St., East Boston, is charged with carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of ammunition and being a felon in possession of a firearm following three prior convictions. He was arrested Nov. 9 in Saugus on Route 1 after being stopped in a vehicle by state police for a motor infraction. Inside the vehicle, under where he was seated in the front passenger side, police said they found a loaded .40 caliber semi-automatic revolver. He did not have a license for the weapon.Indictments are not an indication of guilt: rather a grand jury found sufficient evidence to warrant a jury trial in Superior Court, allowing for a more severe punishment.
