Jessica Underwood scored a career-high 35 points to lead the Tech girls basketball team to a 60-39 win over Chelsea Thursday at Chelsea.The senior forward has quietly been putting up some pretty lofty numbers this season and with last night’s performance, she is averaging 22 points per game and has reached the 900 career-point mark.”She has been, at this level, unstoppable going to the basket,” Tech coach John Crowley said. “She’s there every day. She practices every day. She’s scoring the points and running the floor.”Underwood does her best work in the paint.”Her points are all inside, down low,” Crowley said. “She works the boards. She’s very athletic. She runs the floor from the wing and get the layups.”Underwood had some help from teammate Fanice Baptiste. The sophomore scored 16 points and has consistently provided the Tigers with some additional scoring punch this season.”Her (Underwood) and Fanice have been a pretty good tandem the first eight games,” Crowley said.Tech (5-3, 5-1 Commonwealth Conference) is home today against Shawsheen in a battle for first place.Revere 63, Everett 29At Everett, Christina Cavagnaro scored 16 points and Morgan Jenkins contributed 12 as the Patriots improved to 5-6. Revere only led by six after the first quarter, but the Patriots started to run the ball and push it upcourt in the second quarter and the gap widened to 37-12 at the half.Peabody 74, Saugus 48At Saugus, the Tanners (10-1, 9-0 Northeastern Conference) qualified for the state tournament. Lindsey Consoles and Kristen Federico had 10 points each with Tawny Palmieri and Janelle Rodriguez each chipping in nine. Federico also had eight rebounds and Palmieri had six assists and three steals.”Saugus is a pretty good team, Peabody coach Jane Heil said. “They can put points up. They’re a scrappy team.
