The Shawsheen girls basketball team arrived at Lynn Tech with an unblemished league record, but the Tigers made sure they didn’t leave the same way.Tech put a nice ding in the Rams’ wagon with a 69-36 win and in doing so, tied Shawsheen in the Commonwealth Conference Large. Both teams sport a 6-1 record. Tech is 6-3 overall.”We played a very good team and shut them right down,” Tech coach John Crowley said. “I didn’t expect this. They (Tech) put out their best effort and they picked a good time to do it.”The Tigers had four players in double figures. Jessica Underwood followed up a 35-point performance on Thursday night with 24 points against the Rams. Sophomore guard Fanice Baptist, who had 16 points the other night, checked in with 14 and Zuleika Lopez hit for 16 while pulling down 12 rebounds. Katrina Freeman also brought her “A” game, scoring 15 points and collecting 10 assists. Underwood had 12 rebounds.”If they continue to play like this, we’re going to be alright. It was a nice effort all around,” Crowley said.Gloucester 48, Classical 43At Gloucester, junior forward Pierina Mora scored 16 points and pulled down 18 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Fishermen at bay. Shante Berry had eight points and Francis Matheiu, six points. Jill Lukegord had 15 points and Hannah Cain, 12, for Gloucester (7-4).Swampscott 63, Revere 44At Swampscott, the Patriots didn’t have an answer for the trio of Allie Beaulieu (22 points, 6 blocks, 4 steals); Tara Nimkar (18 points, 10 rebounds) and Kara Gilberg (15 points, 5 steals). The Big Blue are 11-1, 90 in the Northeastern Conference. Christina Cavagnaro had 14 points for Revere.Pentucket 64, Lynnfield 34At Lynnfield, the Pioneers (4-5) knew Pentucket would be tough in the paint, but the Sachems also proved deadly from the perimeter, hitting four or five threes right off the bat. Alison Newell had eight points for Lynnfield and Christine DeLuca, six points.Danvers 65, Salem 38At Danvers, Danielle Sherry had another huge game for the Falcons (7-4, 6-3 Northeastern Conference), scoring 32 points to bring her season average to 20 per game. She came out of the contest eight points shy of the 1,000-career point mark and will go for that milestone next Friday against Classical. Danvers led 21-9 after the first quarter, but Salem turned the tables in the second and at the half, only trailed by one, 29-28. It was all Danvers after the break. The Falcons held the Witches to only 10 points.
