SALEM – A Lynn man who allegedly raped and molested a 14-year-old girl three times has been indicted by an Essex County grand jury.William Lora, 45, of 17 West Baltimore St., #22, stands charged with three counts of rape of a child and three counts of indecent assault and battery on a child over 14.The allegations pertain to incidents between Sept. 1, 2007 and Nov. 13, 2007 when he allegedly raped and molested the teenage girl in Lynn.Lora was arrested following an investigation and remains held on $15,000 cash bail at the Middleton Jail pending his re-arraignment in Superior Court.A conviction of the child rape charges each carry a potential life sentence in state prison and the indecent assault and battery each carry up to five years in state prison.Assistant District Attorney Melissa Woodard is prosecuting the case for the commonwealth. Also indicted:Joseph Kennedy, 21, of 62 Lowell St., third floor, Peabody, charged with two counts of larceny of property under $250, assault with a dangerous weapon and stealing by confining or putting in fear stemming from two incidents in Danvers when he allegedly stole clothing from Kohl’s Department Store on Nov. 17 and Nov. 10.Indictments are not an indication of guilt: rather a grand jury found sufficient evidence to warrant a jury trial in Superior Court, allowing for a more severe punishment.
