Danvers High sharpshooter Danielle Sherry needed eight points to hit the 1,000 career-point milestone heading into Friday night’s game against Classical and she didn’t waste any time doing it. Sherry hit the jackpot on a free throw in the first quarter and went on to lead her team to a 47-38 win at Classical. Sherry finished with 22 points.”She’s very difficult to defend,” Classical coach Tom Sawyer said. “She’s a very good outside shooting, but she can also take the ball inside.”Classical hung in most of the game, but fouls down the stretch helped swell the final scorer.”Turnovers killed us,” Sawyer said. “We had too many trips down the floor where we didn’t’ even get off a shot.”Christina McKenzie had 10 points for the Rams, who are 5-7.
