LYNN-Seven suspected gang members were arrested with the help of the FBI late Saturday night for trespassing at the Strawberry Avenue Playground, police said.The young men are alleged members of the El Salvadorian gang MS-13, a police source said.The suspects are identified as: Manuel Mendes, 23, of 58 Kirtland St., Lynn, Erick Lopez Flores, 19, of 23 Stone Place #2, Lynn, Elder Palma, 17, of 142 Timson St. #1, Lynn, Sammy Cancino, 17, of 454 Chatham St. #1, Lynn, Jose Recinos, 17, of 299 Lexington St. #2, East Boston, Kevin Avelar, 18, of 110 South St. #1, Lynn and Juan Iraheta, 17, of 83 North Common St. #2, Lynn.All seven people were charged with trespassing by being in the park after dark. Cancino, Recinos, Avelar and Iraheta were additionally charged with violating the city’s knife ordinance.The Lynn Police Department’s Gang Unit and an FBI gang task force conducted the arrests shortly after 10 p.m. Further details of the incident were not immediately available Sunday.
