MARBLEHEAD – The Marblehead Community Charter Public School will hold what it calls a Stakeholders’ Meeting Thursday at the school at 7 p.m.Stakeholders include parents, teachers, staff, volunteers and friends of the MCCPS.They are all invited to an interactive dialogue with the school’s Board of Trustees about the future direction of the school. The topics of discussion may include school finances, charter renewal and fall enrollment. Trustee John McEnaney organized the meeting to seek input and let the trustees and all stakeholders “listen to each other, talk about important school issues, and work together to help MCCPS thrive.”McEnaney drafted the agenda with the help of a committee. They envisioned a 90-minute event, highlighted by more than 60 minutes of dialogue between the board members and the community. The board will have 15-20 minutes to provide an overview of its role and a presentation of near and long-term goals. The meeting will include an extensive “marketing campaign,” including a survey of the community prior to the meeting as well as email, flyers, an announcement on the school Web site and at a PTO meeting, and personal outreach. The school has also scheduled an open house Saturday, Feb. 9, from noon to 2 p.m., featuring tours run by current students and parents, a slideshow and information on admission procedures and application submissions from teachers, special education staff and administrators. Refreshments will be served and children should be accompanied by an adult. Further information is available from Eileen Perry at [email protected], or (781) 631-0777.
