LYNN – Two people arrested for allegedly taking drunken drives around Lynn last weekend were both ordered by Lynn District Court judges Thursday to remain in jail until their next court appearances.Joseph Navarro, 50, of 30 Cabot St., Beverly, who was arrested Saturday for his sixth offense of operating under the influence of alcohol after he allegedly drove the wrong way down one-way Liberty Street and nearly struck a police cruiser, was ordered to remain in Middleton House of Correction until a status review hearing is held Feb. 6.Shelley King, 47, of 41 Millard Ave., Lynn, who was busted for her fourth OUI offense Saturday after she allegedly crashed her car into the front of Lazy Dog restaurant in Wyoma Square, was told to return to court March 6 for a pre-trial hearing and ordered to remain at Framingham Correctional Facility. In addition to OUI, King was additionally charged with negligent operation, driving with a revoked license, driving with an open container of alcohol in the vehicle and making an improper turn.Police said that while being asked for her license after her vehicle crashed into the restaurant she replied, “”I don’t have a license. I lost it because of an OUI.” She also had an open can of beer in the vehicle, police said.Court records show Navarro, a Watertown native, was convicted of five OUIs in Massachusetts since 1985. His most recent conviction came in 2002 following his fifth OUI arrest in Amesbury that resulted in the loss of his license for one year.
