Hotel find leads to summons for Lynn man

PEABODY – A Lynn man has a lot of explaining to do after a Route 1 Holiday Inn cleaning lady walked into his room, found him passed out and discovered a firearm on the table Saturday, according to police.Michael J. Balboni, 38, of 11 Concord St., Lynn, will be summonsed to court on drug charges.After police and paramedics were called to the room at about 11:30 a.m., Balboni was transported North Shore Medical Center.A short time later, hospital officials called police saying Balboni had just fled from the hospital.A Peabody Animal Control Officer had to remove a pit bull dog from the hotel room before officers could search it. Officers found illegal narcotics as well, police said.Balboni allegedly used multiple names and dates of birth to register hotel rooms.He will be summonsed to court for possession of a class A drug with intent to distribute, possession of a class B drug with intent to distribute and possession of a class E drug with intent to distribute.
