LYNN – Police say they’re searching for suspects in connection with a brutal beating and stabbing that occurred Saturday morning outside Cesar’s Palace Lounge on Buffum Street.Shortly before 1 a.m., around the bar’s closing time, police were called outside Cesar’s after a man was stabbed multiple times in the chest and another man received serious head injuries, police said.”Upon arrival, they located two injured males,” Lynn Police Capt. Mark O’Toole said. “One male had several stab wounds to his upper body and the other had sustained head trauma.”Police identified Jose J. Nerys, 39, of Lynn as the stabbing victim. He was listed in stable condition Saturday at Mass. General Hospital. A hospital spokesperson did not have his condition available Sunday.Jose Alberto Miguel, 43, of Lynn, was also transported to MGH with non life-threatening head injuries, police said.Police say the attack happened in an alleyway adjacent to the bar around closing time. Miguel apparently got into an argument with another man in the alley and was being attacked when Nerys rushed to his aid, police said. The suspect was described as a Latino male between 25 and 30 years old with long black hair. He was wearing prescription glasses, a gray hooded sweatshirt and a baseball cap, police said. He has not been arrested.Cesar’s Palace was the site of another violent incident involving an unruly customer on Feb. 18, 2005, when Cornelius Moore, then 47 of 263 Essex St., Lynn, allegedly rammed his car at patrons standing outside the building after bartenders ejected him for being belligerent and verbally abusive.Det. Stephen Pohle of the Lynn Police Department Criminal Investigation Division and Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office are investigating Saturday’s attack.Anyone with information concerning this incident is encouraged to call Lynn Police at (781) 595-2000.
