Boys Hockey Roundup: Peabody is top dog in Tannertown after defeating Fenwick

The Peabody High hockey team took home city bragging rights and the Carlin Cup with an 8-1 win over Bishop Fenwick Monday at McVann-O’Keefe Rink.”We really had it going (Monday),” Peabody coach Mark Leonard said.Peabody got a hat trick from A.J. Parker and a goal and an assist each from linemates Andrew Bucci and Zack Brown to pace the offense. Matt Rodgers added a goal and an assist while James Noftle had a pair of goals.Fenwick’s (11-7-1) lone marker came from Dale Crispin, assisted by Pat Doliber and John Angelesco, late in the third period.”We had our chances to make it a game and we couldn’t capitalize,” Fenwick coach Bo Tierney said.St. John’s 4, N. Dame (CT) 2At Ristuccia Arena in Wilmington, the Eagles scored three times in the third period, twice in the last 1:46, to close out the season with a win.Once again, the trio of Colin Prior, Danny Haugh and Christian Cowles led the way as they helped the Prep break a 2-2 tie in the third. Prior scored twice, including the game-winner with 1:46 remaining, while Cowles had a goal and an assist. Haugh added an assist on Prior’s first goal in the third period.
