SALEM – Bail for a Lynn man facing a potential life sentence for raping and molesting a teenage girl, was set at $1,000 cash, after pleading innocent in Salem Superior Court Friday.William Lora, 45, of 17 West Baltimore St., #22, pleaded innocent to three counts of rape of a child with force and three counts of indecent assault and battery on a child 14 or older.Judge Howard J. Whitehead set the bail with the specific conditions that Lora is to stay away from his accuser and not have contact with her until his case is resolved. In the meantime, Lora remains free on $1,000 cash bail. The allegations concern incidents between Sept. 1, 2007 and Nov. 13, 2007 when Lora allegedly raped and molested a 14-year-old Lynn girl. The incidents were disclosed to a counselor at the Department of Social Services in early November.Following an investigation, Lora was arrested on a warrant on Nov. 15.His next scheduled court date is March 19 for a pretrial conference.Lora faces a potential life sentence in state prison on each of the child rape charges and up to 10 years in prison on each of the indecent assault and battery charges.
