LYNN-A Peabody man was arrested for several drug offenses Monday night after police conducted surveillance at his friend’s Lynn home.Marco Collins, 30, of 26 Newbury St., Peabody, was arrested and charged with trafficking over 14 grams of cocaine, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, two counts of a drug violation in a school zone, resisting arrest and giving a false name to police shortly after 11 p.m. Monday.Police were stationed outside 382 Chestnut St. much of Monday night as they placed the home under surveillance in anticipation of carrying out a search warrant.Collins and the resident of the home, Juan Reyes, 29, were arrested after the two returned to the house at about 11 p.m.Collins allegedly started running but Reyes was cooperative, police said.Reyes was charged with driving with a suspended license, but no drug offenses. When police later searched his home officers only found a digital scale but no narcotics, police said.After a brief foot pursuit that brought out several police units, Collins was arrested after scuffling with police on a Chestnut Street sidewalk. Police said they found a large amount of cocaine, heroin and two cell phones in Collins’ pockets.A Lynn District Court judge ordered Collins held on $25,000 cash bail during his arraignment Tuesday. He is due back in court March 13 for a pre-trial hearing.
