Peabody resident gets his 5th DUI

PEABODY-Peabody resident Robert W. Crean of 17 Rockway Road was arrested Monday night for driving under the influence of alcohol, possibly for the fifth time.According to Lt. Dennis Bonaiuto, the 45-year-old man was seen driving through Peabody Square at a high rate of speed around 5:30 p.m. An officer took notice of Crean?s speeding and later stopped him on nearby Foster Street.After a brief investigation, Crean was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of liquor, operating on a suspended license, operating an uninsured vehicle, and operating an unregistered vehicle.?Further investigation provided this could be his fifth offense,” said Bonaiuto.Bonaiuto said that Crean?s most recent alcohol related involvement with the court was back in 2002. If convicted this time around, Bonaiuto said Crean could possibly face a lifetime loss of his drivers license.Crean is scheduled to appear at a hearing in Peabody District Court on Friday to determine whether or not he should be released pending trial.
